Sufjan Stevens announces forthcoming album ‘The Ascension’

The album is set for release on September 25

Sufjan Stevens has officially announced a new album.

The record, which marks the follow-up to Carri & Lowell, is called The Ascension and it’s made up of 15 new tracks and a 16-page booklet of his drawings. The Ascension drops on September 25th via Asthmatic Kitty, and its 12-minute lead single “America” is set for release on Friday.
