During the COVID-19 pandemic, The Unison Fund provided a lifeline of critical assistance to the Canadian music community. Over 3,500 music-workers, and their families, accessed a wide range of support for financial, medical and mental health-related emergencies, including over $3.5M in funds distributed to members of the music industry in Canada.
This year, The Unison Fund launched their own TikTok channel to participate in TikTok’s second annual #GivingSzn campaign. TikTok Canada will generously match all donations to The Unison Fund up to a collective total of $50,000. Add The Unison Fund’s Donation Sticker to your TikTok videos or profile to encourage your friends & family to support your favourite Canadian musicians this #Giving Tuesday.

The Canadian Live Music Association reported that 1 in 4 arts, entertainment, and recreation workers lost their job in 2020, and 85% of professional musicians say they will have a difficult time making a living without live performances. As a result, urgent mental health crisis intervention cases more than tripled, and demand for counseling services increased 142% since the start of the pandemic.
Before we get back to live shows, let’s show our music community how much we care this #GivingTuesday by #GivingBackToMusic and supporting them through the holidays.
