Whoever said cupcakes were so last year, obviously didn’t have one of the best cupcakes that Toronto has to offer. I admit, I’m slightly obsessed with the petit gâteau, they’re just perfect morsels of perfection! Here are some of my favourites in the city.
For the Love of Cake | Liberty Village
Your favourite cupcakes in regular size or junior (so you can have more than one and not feel like a piggy!) They have classic flavours and fun concoctions like maple bacon and guinness chocolate (had them both…divine!) For the kids, or the kid in you, they also have themed cupcakes!
Prairie Girl Bakery | King Street & Yorkville
These cupcakes are huge and delectable, but they also come in mini! With a wide assortment of flavours, it’s hard to choose! They also offer gluten free cupcakes and they have the treats of the week; two flavours only available during that particular week. The packaging is very sweet and they send you away with instructions so you don’t wreck the cuppys before you eat them.
Dlish Cupcakes | Queen St. W
You can go everyday and expect a new menu! 22 flavours in all, on rotation with nine different ones daily. The website will tell you when each flavour will be available in case you like to stick to the same one. Prepare to be surprised with limited edition and seasonal cupcakes too.
CutiePie Cupcakes & Co. | Online
By far the most adorable website and cupcake names! From Black Forest Romp, to Fortune Cookieology to Tipsy Caramel… good luck choosing a favourite! Cupcakes inspired by all your favourite desserts, they come in minis and chubbys.
The Wedding Cake Shoppe | College Street
For the love of all sweet things, please go have the Ferrero Rocher cupcake! Hazelnut and chocolate in a light buttercream with actual pieces of chopped Ferrero Rocher IN IT! So good you can only get it on Saturdays. But that’s just one of the very scrumptious flavours they offer and I’m drooling.
