Sylvan Esso have announced their very own record label, Psychic Hotline. To celebrate the announcement, the duo have collaborated with Blake Mills for a new track.
The elctro-pop pair, made up of Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn, founded the label with their manager Martin Anderson. Psychic Hotline will be in partnership with Secretly Distribution, and based in Sylvan Esso’s hometown of Durham. It’s meant to be “the type of record company we had dreamed of,” Meath says.
The new inaugural release is called “Neon Blue,” a collaboration between Meath and Mills. Mills says that it’s a “nighttime song.” It also features a B-side instrumental version from Sam Gendel.

“Neon Blue” marks the first of many releases in the Psychic Hotline Singles Series. It’s set to feature contributions from Bartees Strange with Dr. Dog’s Erick Slick and Ohmme, The Tallest Man On Earth, Anjimile, and many more.
Psychic Hotline will also boast a whole slew of reissues. Sylvan Esso will be reissuing their own 2014 self-titled debut, out October 8th. Pre-order it here.
“An artist-led enterprise that strives to do right in radical ways by the creators who entrust us with their work; in the deals we make, the way we do business and the way we center the art and the artist,” Meath adds. “We do not seek to own intellectual property under any circumstance, nor do we subscribe to the scarcity-based career approached. We strive to ever-expand out musical community; to welcome more voices and more perspectives. We belive that the only common denominator in great music is honesty in expression.”
