SZA has surprised dropped three new songs called “Nightbird,” “Joni,” and “I Hate You” on an anonymous Soundcloud page.
Last month, SZA debuted a new song called “Shirt” in a livestream performance. Now, she’s released these three new singles on a Soundcloud account cryptically called “.” SZA confirmed that the tracks were hers, tweeting a link to the page and saying that she was “dumping random thoughts.”
On “Nightbird,” SZA sings some silky vocals atop a crisp, groovy guitar and programmed drums. Throughout the song she sings lines like, “Stay the night/ I only got you for a short time.”

“Joni” sees SZA at her softest. With some sweet fingerpicked guitars, SZA croons lines like, “I can’t stop til my shit shine/ I can’t stop til I reach my perfect.”

“I Hate You” has a much different vibe, with a more melancholic, harder instrumental. SZA has her distinctive flow on this tune, singing lyrics like, “Shitty of you to make me feel just like this. / What I would do to make you feel just like this?”
