Because of the deal, Warner Bros.’ long-awaited adaptation of Japanese manga Akira is being put on pause, as the projects’ production dates were set to run at the same time. According to The Hollywood Reporter, sources have revealed that Warners is hoping to keep Waititi involved in Akira long-term, hoping to get him back on board after Thor 4.
