TBT: “Crayon” by Manitoba

One of Canada's most interesting and ever-changing indie artists on this week's TBT

“Crayon” by Manitoba
Up in Flames (2006)

Before Dan Snaith was known as Caribou, he went under a different provincial moniker, Manitoba. His first album, 2001’s Start Breaking My Heart established Snaith as a force in the indie-electro landscape and started a career that has lasted 14 years and counting.

“Crayon” is from Snaith’s second album, 2003’s Up in Flames (which was reissued in 2006 and in 2013 under the Snaith’s new name, Caribou). There is not much to say about “Crayon” other than it is a short, simple and beautiful musical moment from a great record.
