Gord Lewis, the guitarist of Canadian punk outfit Teenage Head, has been found murdered in Hamilton, according to the Hamilton Spectator.
The Hamilton Spectator reportedly confirmed that Gord Lewis was found dead in an apartment on Sunday (August 7th) at 175 Catharine Street South.
One of the newspaper’s staff reportedly called 911 to inform the police of suspicious emails sent to their newsroom throughout the weekend form someone named Jonathan Lewis. Jonathan is believed to be Gord Lewis’ son.

According to the Spectator, Lewis was found deceased by the staff member, who then called the police. The police followed up with a wellness check before confirming that they found a deceased man in his 60s. There has not yet been an identification of the victim because of the body’s “level of decomposition,” according to Hamilton Police Det. Sgt. Sarah Beck.
Beck said that the victim’s injuries were consistent with foul play, but did not reveal any details about the alleged assault. Beck also went on to say that the body had been decomposing for “two to three” days. “But again, until the autopsy is conducted, we won’t know future.”
Jonathan Lewis has since been charged with second-degree murder, and no other suspects are being looked for, according to the police. He was residing at the apartment building in question, which was owned by Gord Lewis.
“Investigators have been in contact with family members related to the apartment’s occupant and they are aware of the ongoing investigation,” police say.
