Airbnb spiced up the travel market by letting users rent out unique living spaces and now there’s a new service that’s being called ‘The Airbnb of car rentals’.
San Francisco-founded company Turo gives people the chance to rent out their cars and earn some extra cash. They announced that they will expand outside of the U.S. starting with a launch in Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec, with plans to go national at some point.
The company said that users renting out their car will pay no fees and each rental is covered by $2-million in auto liability insurance as well as 24-hour roadside assistance.
Users and car owners must go through a screening process before proceeding with transactions. Only Intact, Novex, Jevco, and Belairdirect Insurance policyholders can use Turo at this moment.
