The Barenaked Ladies and Steven Page Reunite at 2018 Juno Awards

Reunited and it feels so good

After nearly a decade apart, The Barenaked Ladies reunited with the Steven Page for a show-stopping performance to celebrate their Canadian Hall of Fame induction at this years Juno Awards in Vancouver.

Members Ed Robertson, Jim Creeggan, Tyler Stewart and Kevin Hearn, were joined by estranged member Steven Page on the stage for a medley of their greatest hits “One Week” and “If I Had $1,000,000.” Their second tune went out with the bang as other Canadian artists joined them on stage, singing along and giving us all the Canadian feels.

Prior to the iconic performance, Rush icon Geddy Lee gave a moving speech about the band’s 30 year history. “Something that flies under the radar with BNL is what effin’ great musicians they all are,” was one of Lee’s many great words to say about the band.

In addition, Canadian stars like Sarah McLachlan, Bryan Adams, and Jason Priestley shared their love for the band in the form of pre-recorded videos shown on-screen.

When they went up to receive their award, it’s safe to say the band was a little emotional. With their song “Pinch Me” playing in the background, we caught Robertson shed some tears and so did we.

The band accepted their award together and each member said their own speech and hugged one another, obviously putting any bad blood aside.

“I’m not crying, you’re crying,” Page quipped. “Thank you guys for the chance to make music with you for 20 years.”

“Thanks to Steve for starting this with me, and the rest of the guys for continuing it,” said Robertson. “For any kids out there with a dream, this can happen, so drop out of school as soon as possible!”

Even though the band made it seem like they’ve never left each other, they made it clear this was going to be a one-time performance. Good thing there’s a replay button on YouTube.
