The Blue Stones | Collective Arts Black Box Sessions

The Blue Stones perform "Be My Fire" and "Black Holes (Solid Ground)" live at Indie88 in the Collective Arts Black Box.

The Windsor-ON based garage blues-rock duo of Tarek Jafar and Justin Tessier have been friends since high school, and drawing from their mutual love of classic blues/rock bands like Zeppelin, Hendrix, MC5 and The Stooges, they began playing music together in University. And after seven years of honing their craft, The Blue Stones released their debut album Black Holes late last year.

“The album’s about being an adolescent on the cusp of becoming an adult and entering the real world from a sheltered environment, like college,” explains Jafar. “Feeling torn between taking the secure path or doing something that might be riskier, but you’re passionate about… following what you love as opposed to sticking to the straight and narrow.”
