The Bring It On franchise is officially getting a slasher sequel.
The series of cheerleading comedy flicks, which started back in 2000 with the Kirsten Dunst and Gabrielle Union-starring film, has gotten a whole slew of sequels, including 2017’s Bring It On: Worldwide #Cheersmack. Now, it’s been confirmed that a slasher sequel called Bring It On: Halloween will arrive on Syfy next year.

The forthcoming film will see a cheerleading group “held down by restrictive rules,” according to Entertainment Weekly, as they seek “the freedom of a creepy, closed school gym to practice for regionals.” But, “when members of the squad start to disappear, the cheerleaders must unmask their assailant to save themselves.”
Bring It On: Halloween is written by Rebekah McKendry and Dana Schwartz, and it’s set for release in 2022.
