Ric Ocasek, lead singer of The Cars, was found dead in his Manhattan home on Sunday, as reported by The New York Post. The Post reported Ocasek’s age as 70, although multiple outlets have listed Ocasek’s age as 75.
The Post‘s sources indicated Ocasek died of natural causes, and was found at home on Sunday by his estranged wife Paulina Porizkova.

In addition to fronting iconic new-wave outfit The Cars, Ocasek also worked as a producer. Ocasek’s credits include Weezer’s Blue and Green albums, Bad Brains’ Rock For Light, as well as records from Bad Religion, Nada Surf, and No Doubt.
The Cars were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018.
