After much anticipation, The Cure’s Robert Smith has given word as to when the album will be coming out. Smith says that the new album will “definitely” be out in 2020. The band’s last release was 2008’s 4:13 Dream, and they previously revealed that three albums were in the works.

While speaking at the NME Awards, Smith confirmed that a new album will finally be coming out very soon.”The first one will definitely be out soon, we’re wrapping it up now and it’s going to be mixed,” Smith revealed. “But until it’s completed, no one will believe me. I look forward to it coming out more than anyone else, trust me!”
There was no exact date, so as of now, all we know that it will come out in 2020. “I’m too old to commit to idiot things like that, wait and see,” Smith revealed said. When asked about the other two albums Smith said, “There’s only two, the third thing is just me, it’s just an hour of me.”
