‘The Daily Show’ host Trevor Noah to host 2021 Grammys

The Grammy awards take place on January 31, 2021

The Daily Show host Trevor Noah is set to host the 2021 Grammy awards.

Noah will be taking over from Alicia Keys, who hosted the Grammys for the last two years. In the past, Grammys hosts have included celebrities like Queen Latifah, James Cordon, Whoopi Goldberg, Ellen DeGeneres, and Noah’s predecessor as host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, Jon Stewart.

Noah, who was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, will be the second Grammy host born outside of the United States. Additionally, Noah himself was nominated for a Grammy last year for best comedy album for Son of Patricia.

“With a knack for keeping viewers engaged and entertained, Trevor is the perfect choice to lead us through what’s sure to be an incredible evening full of music, unforgettable moments, unity and inspiration,” Recording Academy chair and interim president/CEO Harvey Mason Jr. explains.

The 63rd annual Grammy Awards take place on January 31st, 2021 at 8:00 p.m.
