Single Mothers founder and frontman Drew Thomson has announced The Drew Thomson Foundation’s forthcoming self-titled debut album, which is set for release on September 6th, 2019 via Dine Alone Records. As part of the announcement, they’ve dropped a new single titled “Phone Ring.”
“Phone Ring” is a groovy track with a bop-worthy, cyclical guitar riff, a driven drum beat, and gritty vocal lines. Thomson’s dynamic voice take the lead on this track, with a sort of pop punk vibe wedged into an indie rock anthem.
The forthcoming record explores Thomson’s recent sobriety, the death of a loved one, and the process of reconciling with the fact that he pushed away a lot of people close to him. “By drinking a decade away, I also pushed away a lot of people close to me,” Thomson explains in a statement. “People had been telling me to quit for years and I never listened to them. You really have to want to get sober and believe it’s for the best.”
