The Eaton Centre, Yorkdale Mall officially announce reopening

Yesterday, it was announced that Toronto is entering Stage 2 of Ontario’s reopening plan. Now, The Eaton Centre and Yorkdale Shopping Centre have announced that they’ll be reopening tomorrow, June 24th.

Both malls are set to reopen after almost four months of closure, but they’ll be opening with reduced service and new health and safety measures.

The Eaton Centre will be introducing increased cleaning and hand sanitizers throughout the mall, signage to help show shoppers how to navigate through the mall, and curbside pickup with retailers.

At the Eaton Centre, only Canadian Tire, Nordstrom, Shoppers Drug Mart, Lenscrafters, Hudson’s Bay, Saks Fifth Avenue, H&M, Roots, and two Starbucks locations will be open. Additionally, The Bay, Saks, JOEY Restaurants, Best Buy, Canadian Tire, and Samsung will offer curbside pickup.

At Yorkdale, Banana republic, Crate & Barrel, Holt Renfrew, Hudson’s Bay, Indigo, Nordstrom, Urban Behavior, LensCrafters (by appointment only), Nutrition House, Scotiabank, Shoppers Drug Mart, and Starbucks East will be the only stores open.

Additionally, there will be limited capacity at Yorkdale in elevators and washrooms, and some seating has been removed or marked as out-of-use. Valet parking has been suspended, and water fountains and Smartecartes won’t be running.
