Do you ever feel guilty about driving? You know you’re contributing to air pollution while the gas station is sucking up your hard-earned money.
General Motors is developing a new electric car that’ll be cheaper and better than what’s available now. Currently the Chevy Volt costs around $42,000 and can go 60 km on a charge before it switches to the gas generator. The Nissan Leaf is a zero emissions vehicle but starts at $32,000 and can only travel 160 km with no gas option. This new electric car will cost around $30,000 and have a bigger battery that can go 320 km on a charge. That’s enough for a roadtrip.
Now if we can all connect our electric cars to solar-powered chargers we’ll be off the gas and off the grid. In the meantime, here’s how you can cook up some bio-diesel in your own backyard (and look like a character from Breaking Bad while doing it).
