The Georgia Guidestones Held The Key To Humanity’s Survival (Until They Were Blown Up)

For Over 40 years, The Georgia Guidestones Stood With The Answers To Survival

The Georgia Guidestones were huge granite stones inscribed with words of advice that the author intended to “guide humanity forward”. They were very recently (July 2022) blown up, and will be recreated by the city of Elbert County, Georgia.

The author of the stones, a man going by the pseudonym of R.C. Christian, was very specific in his instructions, and his intent for these mysterious stones. In the case of an apocalypse, the stones were meant to be a guiding light for survivors or new humans.

However, as much as they were built to withstand catastrophe, they could not withstand the bomb that blew them up. Let’s dig into some details of these super fascinating stones, and then dive into the unsolved mystery of Dighton Rock.

Who Made Built The Georgia Guidestones & Why Did They Do It?

In June, 1979, R.C. Christian claimed to represent a group of Americans who stood firmly behind a set of values. So firmly, in fact, that they wanted them engraved in stone and mounted permanently on a very specific plot of land.

Christian chose Elbert County because of its abundance of local granite, mild climate, rural landscape and family connections to the area. They chose this particular spot because it’s the highest elevation in the county.

The Cherokee people of the area referred to the spot as “Al-yeh-li A lo-Hee” which translates to “centre of the world“.

The granite stones were built specifically to withstand catastrophic events. The creators wanted the stones to function as a compass, calendar, and clock. Meant to rival Stonehenge, R.C. Christian thought the Georgia Guidestones were superior because they had a message to communicate.

The message was key to the whole thing.

The inscriptions dealt with four main themes:

  • governance and the establishment of a world government
  • population and reproduction control
  • the environment and humankind’s relationship to nature, and
  • spirituality.

What Do The Georgia Guidestones Say?

The following inscriptions were sandblasted deep into the granite:

  1. Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.
  2. Guide reproduction wisely – improving fitness and diversity.
  3. Unite humanity with a living new language.
  4. Rule passion – faith – tradition – and all things with tempered reason.
  5. Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.
  6. Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.
  7. Avoid petty laws and useless officials.
  8. Balance personal rights with social duties.
  9. Prize truth – beauty – love – seeking harmony with the infinite.
  10. Be not a cancer on the Earth – Leave room for nature – Leave room for nature.

The guidestones were written in in eight different languages across six granite slabs. They were meant to serve as a guide for humanity in the world following a social, nuclear, or economic calamity.

Controversy Has Always Surrounded The Stones

Initially, when they erected the stones in 1980, they were not very controversial. However, eventually the stones became the subject of huge debate across belief systems.

Conspiracy theorists swore the stones stood for Satanism. Groups from all over took a crack at theories. Many were dark and some people even peed on the monument. All in all, people took their message quite seriously.

The stones, however, were supposedly based on Christian values in the first place.

As Mysteriously As The Stones Appeared, They Also Disappeared

On the morning of July 6, 2022, someone driving a silver truck bombed the guidestones.

Earlier vandalism had prompted security to install cameras on the stones. Because of this, local authorities were able to determine a vehicle. However, they have no actual suspects yet.

Do Any Of The Guidestones Remain Today?

For safety reasons, the city dismantled the guidestones the day of the bombing. However, Elberton Mayor Daniel Graves plans to rebuilt the Georgia Guidestones, just as they were.

The city estimates that the rebuilding will take six months to a year. I wonder how long it will take before vandals strike again.
