The Killers deliver powerful performance of ‘In Another Life’ on ‘Corden’

The Killers appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden last night (September 2) to perform their track “In Another Life”.

“In Another Life” comes from their recent album Pressure Machine, released in August and almost exactly a year after their LP Imploding the Mirage. Pressure Machine sees a more stripped-back and intimate Killers, as the project was inspired by frontman Brandon Flowers’ small-town upbringing.

Their Corden rendition, taking place in a small dimly-lit room, is tense and passionate. Brandon Flowers gives a serious performance while each musician can be seen pouring their heart into the music.

Where their last album seemed to channel wide open spaces, Pressure Machine paints a gritty portrait of small-town America. Pressure Machine is all about the intricacies of small-town life. It comes packed with songs rooted in realism, as frontman Brendan Flowers sings of those who get left behind.

Flowers explains that it was inspired by his youth, growing up in Nephi, Utah.

“Everything came to this grinding halt,” Flowers states. “And it was the first time in a long time for me that I was faced with silence. And out of that silence this record began to bloom, full of songs that would have otherwise been too quiet and drowned out by the noise of typical Killers records.”
