As part of the announcement, The Lumineers shared the album’s title track alongside a visualizer. Not only did they release it on streaming services, but they also debuted it live on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
“The song ‘BRIGHTSIDE’ was recorded in a single day,” The Lumineers’ Wesley Schultz says of the single. “It’s like a 15-year-old’s fever dream, an American love story in all its glory and heartbreak. The last couple left, on the run from something and all alone…”

The band’s longtime collaborator Simone Felice produced the album, which was mixed, engineered, and produced by David Baron. The Lumineers recorded the album over two sessions in winter and spring of 2021.
The forthcoming album serves as their first new music in over two years. The nine-song collection will be a joyous, celebratory, and spontaneous body of work.
