Is Toronto getting it’s own city-focussed museum? Sort of.
This week a group of organizers launched the “Myseum of Toronto” – a pop-up museum that will take place across the city at events starting in June.
Here are some facts from their website.
What is the Myseum of Toronto and why does it exist?
The Myseum of Toronto is a celebration of the evolution of our communities, cultures, and urban and natural spaces. It connects our recollections of the past with our visions of the future through the ideas, art and artifacts we share. Through the Myseum, we aim to bring about a deeper, more personal understanding and appreciation of all that is Toronto.
Where can I visit the Myseum of Toronto?
The Myseum of Toronto is not just one place, it’s every place. You can experience it online and at pop-up events around the GTA all year long.
Who takes care of it?
The Myseum of Toronto is a non-profit organization, managed by a group of private citizens, but will be co-created by present and former Torontonians from across the GTA and around the world. Learn more about our team.
Can I contribute?
Please do! You are the “my” in Myseum. Share your ideas, stories, art, music and artifacts by contacting us. Join us at events and exhibitions. Make a donation or volunteer. The more you get involved, the better the experience the Myseum of Toronto will be.
