Yesterday The National teased new music with a cryptic video including the phrases “Sleep Well Beast” and “The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness.”

Earlier today, the band has released three more teasers leading up to their new album, including a post captioned “The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness” on their own Instagram, as well as two separate photo and video posts on the band’s label’s Instagram 4AD.

Wednesday afternoon the band shared the release date for their new album, Sleep Well Beast, which will be released on September 8 via 4AD. Posters have been apparently popping up IRL with these details, some being shared on social media. Check it out below.
