The National to release live album ‘Juicy Sonic Magic’ for Record Store Day Black Friday

The National are set to release a live three-cassette box set Juicy Sonic Magic for Record Store Day Black Friday, which takes place on November 29th.

The special release was recorded at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, California during The National’s shows on September 24th and 25th, 2018. “The Berkeley shows were taped by producer and engineer Erik Flannigan using the Mike Millard Method, which replicates the vintage analog recording equipment the legendary taper used in the ’70s and ’80s,” according to a press release.

The forthcoming album is also set to come accompanied by a David DuBois-directed documentary called Juicy Sonic Magic, which explores Millard and the process of taping The National’s concerts.
