The Rapture, which was formed in 1998 by frontman Luke Jenner and drummer Vito Roccoforte, have officially announced a set of reunion shows for 2019.
The New York dance-punk band had their breakout in 2003 because of their hit track “House Of Jealous Lovers.” After the release of their debut album Echoes and their sophomore album Pieces Of The People We Love, the band went on tour supporting Daft Punk in 2007. Then, in 2008, Jenner briefly left the band after the death of his mother and birth of his son, returning a few months later. Bassist Mattie Safer quit the band permanently in 2009, and they officially split in 2014.
Now, The Rapture is back after they’ve announced a comeback show at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg on April 30th right before they play at Just Like Heaven Festival on May 4th. “It’s been this long gritty road trying to figure out how to be a father and a husband which seemed a lot more important than standing on stage in front of anyone,” Jenner wrote on Facebook. “Anyway, I hope there is a long future for us and we can build something new. Maybe you will join us someplace along the way again.”
