The Smile debut new song ‘Friend Of A Friend’ live

Made up of Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood and Sons Of Kemet’s Tom Skinner, The Smile have debuted a new song, “Friend Of A Friend,” live.

Fresh off releasing their new album, A Light For Attracting Attention, the smile have kicked off their European tour. On May 16th in Zagreb, Croatia, The Smile debuted their new single, “Friend Of A Friend.”

“We literally wrote it today,” Yorke tells the crowd before continuing to say that “it’s a skeleton.”

Throughout the set, The Smile played a whole slew of tracks from A Light For Attracting Attention. Among those tracks included previously released singles “Pana-vision,” “The Smoke,” “Thin Thing,” “Free In The Knowledge,” “Skrting On The Surface,” and “You Will Never Work In Television Again.”

The Smile played Yorke’s 2009 single “FeelingPulledApartByHorses” for the first time since 2013. They also played “Just Eyes And Mouth,” which Yorke described as a song that “didn’t make it onto the [Smile] record but it’s really good,” according to Stereogum.
