The ‘Stranger Things’ season 4 soundtrack features Kate Bush, Talking Heads, more

Alongside the release of the first installment of the new season of Stranger Things, Netflix has shared the Stranger Things season 4 soundtrack.

Aptly titled Stranger Things: Soundtrack from the Netflix Series, Season 4, Volume I, the album is made up of ’80s anthems. Compiled by creators The Duffer Brothers and music supervisor Nora Felder, the soundtrack features a whole slew of hits.

The soundtrack boasts Talking Heads’ “Psycho Killer,” The Beach Boys’ “California Dreamin’,” KISS’ “Detroit Rock City,” Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill,” and more. It also features a new version of Journey’s “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart),” which was remixed by Bryce Miller and Alloy Tracks.

“I’ve been obsessed with her since I was a little girl,” Winona Ryder said of Kate Bush in an interview with USA Today. “I don’t know if you did this, but in my school you had to dress down for P.E., and sometimes I just wouldn’t. I’d just sit there with my headphones listening to her. She’s a hero of mine.”

“I’ve also for the last seven years been dropping hints on set wearing my Kate Bush T-shirts,” Ryder adds.

A second set of songs for the Stranger Things season 4 soundtrack will arrive on July 1st alongside the second installment of the season. Later on, on September 9th, the complete soundtrack will be available on CD, cassette, and vinyl. You can pre-order that here.
