The top 5 experiences at Toronto’s Wavelength Summer Music & Arts Festival

The Wavelength Summer Music Festival is an urban getaway like no other. It is an influential nonprofit independent music organization and concert series held in Toronto.

Wavelength Music presents two nights full of music, comedy, and art. It is easily accessible by transit, cycling or even on foot, and it offers up music, comedy, arts, activities and, of course, food and drinks. Wavelength 2019 will be a hidden oasis full of creativity and community.

Here are the top 5 experiences at the Wavelength Summer Music Festival.

The venue is different and makes the festival more intimate and immersive by providing an out of this world experience. The festival will provide an escape inside and outside of the walls of the shipping containers that make up stackt. The venue is Toronto’s newest space for creatives, where it is designed entirely out of shipping containers. At stackt, you’ll engage in new experiences, find new products and form new perceptions. Note that when you’re heading to the event, stackt is cashless, so make sure to bring your card!

You can listen to rad tunes inside of a brewery

For Wavelength, it has been a tradition to transform a local space into an urban oasis for music, art and community. They are taking over stackt for this year’s festival, and although it is held in an outdoor space, not to worry! The main stage will be held inside of a brewery! The stage will be weather-protected inside of the Belgian Moon Brewery, where they will be offering a variety of seasonal beers. Another great feature is that it will be air-conditioned, and who doesn’t want some fresh AC on a hot summer day?

Awesome Art & Activities

There will be several hilarious stand up comedy sets between musical acts. The comedy acts will occur between each band’s set, so you will be thoroughly entertained throughout each moment of the festival. While you wait for some killer music, you’ll get to listen to some high quality comedic acts. The line-up of comedians include Natalie Norman, Jialu Wang, Gregory Brown, Meg McKay and more!

An unbelievably curated lineup of bands

The curated lineup of acts at the festival’s main stage was custom made by Wavelength Artistic Director Jonathan Bunce, a.k.a. Jonny Dovercourt, and co-curator Ian Steaman. These guys know their stuff when it comes to music based in Toronto, as they are veterans in their respective fields in the music industry. The line-up of musicians include Milk & Bone, Afrotronix, Cadence Weapon, Yonatan Gat, and more! Check out the full lineup above. Plus, our very own Lana Gay will be hosting!

Wavelength Summer Music & Arts Festival will take place from August 17th to 18th at 28th Bathurst St., Toronto. To purchase tickets to the festival’s official website here
