Allegedly, the transit agency will likely be releasing its proposed budget on Friday, right before a board meeting scheduled for the following Thursday. The Toronto Star spoke with a source who had knowledge of the budget documents, and they confirmed that the TTC will be recommending an increase in fares by 3 per cent.
This means that tokens and adult Presto fares would rise by $0.10, raising the cost of travel to $3.10. Additionally, the cost of an adult monthly pass on Presto will be expected to rise. Cash, on the other hand, has no intention of rising, and will remain at a fare of $3.25.
