Classic 90s comedy flick Clueless is getting a remake by Paramount Pictures, but people aren’t too happy about it.
Girls Trip writer Tracy Oliver will be producing and Glow writer Marquita Robinson will be writing the controversial film. The 1995 original was loosely based on Jane Austen’s novel Emma from 1815, and starred Alicia Silverstone, Paul Rudd, and more.
The film has continued to resonate with teen fans even now, and it seems like people think remaking Clueless is disgracing their childhood because it won’t be able to stay true to all of the 90s quirks like the catch phrase “As if!”

The upside of the #clueless remake is that Paul Rudd can sill play his character as a 20 year old. #cluelessremake

remaking the movie #Clueless is a bigger tragedy than wearing white after labor day.
