Last week Apple rolled out iOS9 and while it comes with a slew of great features – there is one that you might want to turn off, immediately.
The new feature “WiFi Assist” is designed to give you a seamless WiFi experience, but for users with a limited data plan, it can be a nightmare. Switched on by default, the new feature detects when your WiFi signal is getting spotty and will automatically switch you over to a cellular network, causing limited data plan users’ bills to skyrocket. So, if you’ve got a decent WiFi signal at home or at work, you might want to keep WiFi Assist switched off.
Here’s how to turn it off:
1. Open your settings
2. Choose “Cellular”
3. Scroll to the bottom and switch off “Wi-Fi Assist”
