Stop what you’re doing. A new curly-haired, floppy eared K9 has just become the 190th dog breed officially recognized by the American Kennel Club, and it’s adorable.
The Hungarian Pumi, looks like the perfect cross between a poodle and a terrier, with enough spunky energy to gain the title of your new best friend.
Naturally, the breed is not exactly “new”. Already popular in Europe, the perky pooch has been around for a while, but has only just earned its spot in the American Kennel Club, after a meeting strict population quota and geographic distribution criteria.
According to AKC, the Pumi is an energetic and chipper breed originating in Hungary. Now that the breed has been officially recognized by the AKC, the fluffy cutie-pies can now compete in national dog shows – so get ready to see these guys everywhere.
