These photos taken from Toronto Islands, which are now partially submerged in water might shock you.
A Toronto photographer paddled out to the Toronto Islands this weekend, which has been closed due to flooding since early this month. The photos he captured show cause for alarm for the island that will remain closed until July at the very latest. Toronto had a record setting spring, with precipitation levels the highest they’ve been since 1938.
Danny Williams, the photographer who took these photos, says he’s been going out to the island since he was young, and that “he’s never seen the water so high”. He wrote on Reddit, “There were 3 ft carp spawning in the baseball diamond, the entire centerville zoo was underwater.”
