One woman believes that all people, including those that are hearing-impaired, should be able to enjoy the magic that is music.
Amber Galloway Gallego is an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter who works to help deaf people enjoy live music. The 36-year-old has interpreted at over 400 concerts, working with artists such as Snoop Dog, Aerosmith, Destiny’s Child and Kendrick Lamar.
Gallego spoke with MTV and told them:
“Artists have to care about their deaf community, too, because those are also ticket-buyers; they are also fans. The deaf concertgoers, they want to also have access. And so much of their life is not accessible. They’re fighting everyday for access.”
