Ticketmaster responds to COVID-19 refund policy backlash

More than 11,000 events have already offered refunds

Earlier this week, Ticketmaster came under fire following changes to its refund policy amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Ticketmaster changed its policy to only offer refunds for cover that have been cancelled, while restructuring its approach for concerts or events that have been postponed or rescheduled.

The ticket sales and distribution company has issued a statement to explain its stance on refunds under the current circumstances. Ticketmaster notes that over 11,000 concerts, events, and postponed sporting events have already been authorized for refunds.

Check out the complete statement below.

According to Ticketmaster, refunds for many concert and event currently in limbo are being held up due to organizers and regional governments facing uncertainty over potential rescheduled dates.

While Ticketmaster stopped short of guaranteeing refunds for all affected events, they did state that most organizers “will make a refund window available once new dates have been determined.”
