Tilda Swinton has confirmed that she dressed up as an old man for the upcoming horror film remake Suspiria.
Swinton and director, Luca Guadagnino, have both been denying that the actor would be playing a role as the old psychoanalyst Dr. Klemperer in the remake, stating the role was being played by someone named “Lutz Ebersdorf.”
While speaking with The New York Times, Swinton revealed that she would in fact be playing this fictional character, Lutz Ebersdorf, playing Dr Klemperer.
Whether you choose to believe me or not, the below picture is in fact Tilda Swinton in a whole bunch of makeup and prosthetics.
“The answer to the question to me, ‘Are you playing Dr. Klemperer in ‘Suspiria’?’ is always that Dr. Klemperer is played by Lutz Ebersdorf,” Swinton explained. She states that no one had ever asked her if she was playing the role of Lutz Ebersdorf. In fact, she even created a profile for the fictional old man on IMDB.
Swinton’s evolution into Lutz Ebersdorf/Dr Klemperer took four hours in Oscar-winning artist Mark Coulier’s make-up chair.
