Tim Burton has been tapped to create a live-action Addams Family spin-off series for Netflix that revolves around Wednesday Addams.
The eight-part show, which is called Wednesday is set to be a coming-of-age comedy and a “sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy,” according to Netflix.

Written by Al Gough and Miles Millar, the series marks Burton’s television directing debut.
Ultimately, the series will see “Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago – all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships of the strange and diverse student body.”
Cast members and release dates have yet to be announced.
