Tool drummer Danny Carey says lead singer Maynard James Keenan received death threats over delayed album

After making fans wait for more than a decade

Tool’s drummer Danny Carey has opened up about his experience of being in a band that kept its fans waiting over a decade for new music. Carey told Metal Hammer that lead singer Maynard James Keenan was getting a lot of hate due to making fans wait.

“He even told me he was getting death threats from these idiots out there,” Carey explained. “They just have no idea what our work ethic is. These things don’t happen, man. There’s no other record that’s going to sound like this Tool record. What you hear is what you get, and what you get is what it takes to get it done. And it’s not an easy process.”

Tool’s new album Fear Inoculum will be their first album in 13 years. The album is due out on August 30th. The album’s title track was released earlier this month, you can check it out below!
