Tool play their 1993 track ‘Undertow’ live for the first time in 20 years

Tool performed their 1993 tune “Undertow” live for the first time in 20 years at a show last week.

The Los Angeles outfit took the Detroit, Michigan’s Little Caesars Arena on Thursday (March 3rd). The show served as part of their 2022 world tour, which was delayed due to COVID-19 before finally launching in January. During the 12-song set, Tool dove into the archives to perform “Undertow.”

The band’s current tour was postponed by nearly two years, so maybe that’s what inspired them to break out a special track. Tool shocked the crowd, performing the title track from their debut studio album, Undertow.

“Undertow” isn’t the first time Tool dove into the archives on this tour. During their first show on January 10th, they performed a slew of songs they hadn’t performed in years, including “Pushit” and “Right In Two.”
