On Wednesday, Canadians woke up to a horror that we knew was long time coming: Gord Downie had passed away.
To say that Gord Downie was loved isn’t enough. The Tragically Hip frontman meant so much more to so many of us than just a singer in a band. He was a poet, an activist and who embodied the true Canadian spirit. He was the soudntrack to our summers, our childhoods and helped us get through tough times in our lives.
In a sobering eulogy of sorts, Indie88 host Josie Dye shared her thoughts yesterday to a man she knew and loved.. Josie reflected on her friendship with Downie, his band, his compassion, and life. Listen to her thoughts through the player above.
