TOPS’ Marci shares visualizer for debut solo single ‘Entertainment’

TOPS’ Marta Cikojevic has shared a visualizer for her debut single as Marci, “Entertainment,” out now via Arbutus Records.

Produced and recorded with TOPS bandmate David Carriere, the new track is a pure pop song with an ’80s sheen. Packed with shimmering synths and smooth sax lines, “Entertainment” is all about the highs and lows of love. Lyrically, the track sees Marci singing of playful flirting and the game of lust. The accompanying visualizer boasts close up shots of Cikojevic singing along to the tune beneath orange lighting.

“‘Entertainment’ is having fun flirting with life, with lust, or without purpose,” Marci explains. “Its conception was uncomplicated, we took parts from a song that was proving difficult to finish, added some new ingredients and it came out like cake.”

While Marci has never formally written songs before, this debut single sees her bursting onto the scene with confidence. She’s been fond of melodies since her childhood in rural Ontario, but she’s since honed in on her own songwriting style.
