Toronto and Peel Region will enter into Stage 3 of Ontario’s COVID-19 recovery plan this Friday, the provincial government announced Wednesday morning.
“While more restaurants, theatres and businesses can hang up their open for business sign, we’re asking everyone to follow public health advice and act responsibly,” Premier Doug Ford said in a news release.

Stage 3 allows for larger gatherings of people with social distancing measures still in place. Toronto and the GTA will also be allowed to open for indoor dining in restaurants, live events, and the reopening of movie theatres and playgrounds.
Windsor-Essex will not be permitted to proceed into the next phase at this point, making it the only part of the province that will remain in Stage 2.
