Toronto Driver Mistakes Boat Ramp for Driveway, Ends Up in Lake Ontario

And you thought the Queen Quay streetcar tunnel was a problem

A Toronto motorist mistook an Ashbridges Bay boat launch for a driveway on Saturday, which led to their car being submerged in Lake Ontario. Luckily, no one was hurt as two occupants were able to be escape the car after it hit the water. The driver’s pride, though, may have suffered some damage.

Toronto resident and photojournalist John Hanley captured an image of fire and police officials on the scene.

It was a nice break from the mundane occurrences of cars driving into the Queens Quay streetcar tunnel.

Although both occupants managed to escape, the car remained submerged in the water.
