Toronto is getting an interactive Dr. Seuss-themed exhibit this fall.
The exhibit will be a 15,000-square-foot immersive attraction based on a maze from the book Oh, the Places You’ll Go and Toronto will be the first stop on the North American tour. Similar to the Kusama’s Infinity Mirrors at the Art Gallery of Toronto, the exhibit will feature different themed rooms to explore, which will all highlight the iconic works of Dr. Seuss.
The Dr. Suess Experience is set to launch at the Square One Shopping Centre starting on October 26th, and it will feature a The Lorax room with truffula trees, an If I Ran the Circus room with a working carousel, and a Horton Hears a Who! room with pink clover.
According to Dr. Seuss Enterprises, there will be many other rooms to explore, featuring classics such as The Cat in the Hat, Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are?, and more. The exhibit is being produced by Dr. Seuss Enterprises and Los Angeles entertainment company Kilburn Live.
Kilburn’s CEO Mark Manuel told the Associated Press that the exhibit has been in development for more than two years, and “it will promote both literacy and the pro-social messages in Dr. Seuss books. For example, the room based on The Sneetches and Other Stories will extol values such as tolerance and individuality, for instance”.
Tickets are available for purchase starting Tuesday, September 13.
