The Toronto Islands have been closed to the public since early spring due to heavy rainfall-induced flooding. As a result, many businesses that rely on the summer crowds that visit Toronto Island are being impacted financially. As a result, the city council has refrained from collecting rent and permit fees from island businesses.
According to the City of Toronto, some areas of Toronto Island Park will open by July 31st, including Centreville. However, this estimate is weather pending and parts of Centre Island will more than likely remain closed all summer.
If Centreville reopens, the amusement park is considering running its season into the fall to compensate for the summer’s closures.
