It looks like Toronto venue The Mod Club is set to reopen as the Axis Club.
The beloved west end venue announced that it would be shutting down for good back in November. “We regret to inform you that The Mod Club Theatre will be closing its doors and operations at 722 College Street…effective immediately,” the message read. “Serving you for the last two decades has been full of great memories and good times.”
But no need to fear, Toronto concertgoers, it looks like the venue will be reopening under a new name: the Axis Club.

Earlier this week, Arlo Parks announced a North American tour that featured a stop at the former venue in September, which brought a lot of confusion to concert lovers across the city. The show’s ticket listings reveals that the venue has been taken over by a new group that renamed the College St. hot spot to the Axis Club.
“The concert venue at 722 College St (formerly The Mod Club) will be re-opening with a new name and this show will be happening,” the ticket page says.
