Toronto’s Nutrients share video for new jangle pop single ‘Window Seat’

Toronto outfit Nutrients have shared a video for their new single, “Window Seat,” out now via Earth Libraries.

The new jangle pop tune boasts bouncy, soft guitar riffs, dreamy melodies, and soft, silky vocal lines. Throughout the track, Nutrients channel a catchy, light sound that’s perfect for easy listening. The accompanying video channels the breezy sounds of the song, with nostalgic footage of the band out on the road.

“This is a quick guitar pop song that harkens back to songs Nutrients used to write,” Nutrients’ Taylor Teeple explains. “The guitar interplay is actually just two guitars playing this one-string riff at the same time with some minor deviations. The riff kinda sounds emo-adjacent almost.”

In addition to primary songwriter Teeple, Nutrients features pianist Iulia Ciobanu, bassist Sean McKee, and guitarist Will Hunter.

Much like on “Window Seat,” their music recalls the sound of acts like TOPS, Andy Shauf, and Steely Dan.

Previously, Nutrients have opened for acts like Luna Li and Jaunt. They’ve also performed at Boise’s Treefort Festival, and since then have grown their following and their sound.

Today’s release marks their first new music since the release of a series of homemade tapes from 2016 to 2018 and a few early albums. Keep your eyes peeled for new music from Nutrients on the horizon.
