Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker was involved in a vehicle collision with an oncoming school bus this weekend.
In 2008, Barker barely survived a horrifying plane crash that left over 65% of his body covered in second and third-degree burns, and required over 25 surgeries to recover from.
In this car accident however, Barker was able to walk away from, injury-free.
According to TMZ, Barker was driving his car on Friday when an oncoming school bus crashed into him. The collision occurred after the bus, which was empty at the time, failed to stop at a red light.
“I was on the way to my son’s basketball game and a school bus ran a stoplight and totalled my car…it was pretty crazy,” he said to US Weekly. “I’m really lucky everyone’s safe. Fortunately, there were no kids on the bus, just the bus driver…It was just more scary than anything.”
Prior to the collision, Barker had also recently announced Blink-182 would be postponing their Las Vegas residency after he suffered a number of blood clots in his hands. According to a statement the band released on Twitter, Barker will be unable to perform until “cleared to do so by his medical team.”
Barker also said that he’s seeing doctors “weekly.”
