Snoop Dogg’s music video for his remix of BADBADNOTGOOD’s “Lavender” has been getting a lot of attention, not so much for Snoop’s flow and catchy beat, but for what the actual video content entails.
The focus is on current issues in America regarding police brutality, news/ media coverage, and a special spotlight on a look-alike clown-version of President Trump. Characters throughout the video are all clowned out, red nose and all. Two minutes and 48 seconds into the video, a Trump look-alike appears with bold orange face paint.
As “Trump” is smoking a cigarette, Snoop Dogg appears beside him with a rifle aimed at his head. The gun goes off and a BANG flag shoots out of the gun, the screen then goes black and shortly everything reverts back to normal. Snoop’s rapping beside fancy cars with women bumping and grinding. Yep, Snoop Dogg just made a joke out of assassination and the President of the United States all in one! Nearing the end of the video, the Trump look-alike makes another appearance, this time chained up beside Snoop trying to snag a puff of Snoop’s joint.
Of course, the real deal Trump has seen the video and has responded via Twitter.
Can you imagine what the outcry would be if @SnoopDogg, failing career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama? Jail time!
