2017 will officially be the sixth year in a row that the TTC has increased the price of fare.
The Toronto Transit Commission board has approved a 10 cent fare hike for the coming new year. This comes after a proposal was made last week, which will generate an estimated $27 million in profit.
The hike will apply to tokens, as well all Metropass holders. A standard monthly Metropass will increase to $146.25, with student and senior Metropasses going up to $116.75, a $4.75 increase in both cases.

Cash fare however will stay the same price at $3.25. Presto card users will also notice the increase, from $2.90 to $3.00.
Expect to see the new fare take place January 1st, 2017.
